Otoyama Nature Park, which spreads out on a hilly area that is easily accessible from Asahikawa city, is a famous flower spot known for its spring katakuri clusters.
During the opening period (usually from mid-April to late April), the entire slope of the park is dyed with light purple flowers, and wildflowers typical of Hokkaido, such as katakuri, Ezoengosaku, and sphagnum flowers, bloom one after another.
Wooden paths and promenades are maintained, and you can enjoy the nature of the four seasons while walking leisurely, from the walking path with few ups and downs to the viewing point on the hill.
On a clear day, the Daisetsuzan mountain range and the Tokachidake mountain range spread out, and you can also enjoy the exhilarating scenery with a view of the clear stream of the Ishikari River below and the countryside of the Kamikawa Basin.

There are rest areas and explanatory signs in the park, so even those who are new to plant observation and families can rest assured.
Why not visit with your camera in hand and take advantage of the best time to see the flowers?
The opening days and best time to see the park may vary depending on the weather, so please check the latest information in advance before going out.
