“Pippu Ski Resort” boasts one of the largest scales and high-quality powder snow in the northern Hokkaido area. The large resort slopes are crowded with skiers and snowboarders from Japan and abroad.
The slope, which offers a panoramic view of the vast Kamikawa Basin and the Daisetsuzan mountain range, has nine unique courses that can be enjoyed by beginners and experts throughout the day. The Golden Course on the steep slope of the cobb and the deep snow veteran course are popular courses for intermediate and above. There is a snow park on the beginner course. The advanced course is clearly separated from the left side of the mountain, and the beginner course is clearly separated from the right side of the mountain, so you won’t get lost by mistake. People of a similar level gather, so you can ski without hesitation.
In 2017, a new center house was built, and you can prepare, rest, and eat in a bright and spacious space. There are changing rooms, a children’s space, and free Wi-Fi, making it family-friendly. In addition, the window tables lined up in front of the Silver Course are like spectator seats. When skiing on the silver course, why not appeal to the gallery during the break?

There are two cafeterias at Pippu Ski Resort. Inside the center house, standard menu items such as noodles, rice bowls, and curry are offered at reasonable prices. You can enjoy the food culture of the common people of Japan, such as the egg over rice set meal made with all locally produced ingredients and rice balls + pork soup. Rainbow trout bowl is served at “Snow Guard”, and karaage rice bowl is served at the restaurant “Hokurei Lodge”.

If there is about 30 cm of snowfall, we recommend the deep snow course, and if not, we recommend the dynamic course in the center of the slope in the morning when the snow is compact. The open barn, which boasts one of the best in Hokkaido, feels so good that your sense of speed is paralyzed! Also, the first thing that comes to mind when snowboarders in Hokkaido hear the word “pippu” is the wall of the 2,200-meter-long strawberry course! If it snows, go to the strawberry course first.

  5. Yuyu Pippu

After skiing, take a bath in Yuyu Pippu

The bathing ticket that comes with the one-day ski resort ticket can be used at the “Yuyu Pippu”, which is a 1-minute drive from the ski resort. Soak in the hot springs of Bright Stone, which is said to be difficult to cool down, relax your muscles and heal the fatigue of snow activities and travel.
Yuyu Pippu’s hot springs are characterized by their soft texture, and the infrared rays emitted by the ore warm them from the core of the body, making them difficult to cool down. In addition to the large bathtub where you can rest your body freely, there is also a sleeping bath with a jacuzzi, a sauna, and a daily herbal bath. Especially recommended in winter is the open-air bath in the style of a Japan garden. Soak in the masonry bathtub and relax.

Heal your tired body in the hot springs and prepare it in the sauna. There is no luxury at all. Yuyu Pippu’s “Light Stone” is said to have the strongest ionic effect among natural ores. Its benefits are varied, such as neuralgia, stiff shoulders, and rheumatism. Once you enter the hot springs, you can warm your body from the core of your body with the far-infrared effect emitted by the ore. Another attraction is that the food is delicious. The reason is that the caterer is the owner. Because each dish is carefully prepared by cooking professionals, it has been loved by local customers for over 30 years.

The Asahikawa Equestrian Club was founded in 1953 and celebrated its 100th anniversary last year. Despite its urban location, it has an outdoor racecourse of 4,950 square meters, an indoor racecourse of 800 square meters, changing rooms, waiting rooms, toilets, a gallery, an instructor’s room, a horse grain warehouse, an indoor and outdoor horse washing area, and an outdoor composting site. The horses here are very active in the local area, leading the parade at the Hokkaido Music March, a music festival representing Hokkaido, and participating in local events on business trips. Not only can you interact with horses, but there are also ponies, rabbits, chickens, goats, alpacas, and sheep, and you can experience feeding them for free.
